Hi Katie, We are disappointed to hear you are not completely satisfied with the Hudson Small Backpack. An email is headed your way so we can further assist. We’ve also passed this feedback along to our design and production teams

I really wanted to love this backpack as a replacement for my old, well-loved one, but the adjustable strap design is a dealbreaker. If you tighten the straps to wear it higher, like shown on the model, the excess slack awkwardly sticks out instead of tucking neatly like previous designs. I even visited a Kate Spade store to confirm I wasn’t adjusting it wrong, and the sales rep admitted it was the correct adjustment while oddly defending the design with a lecture about her chiropractor recommending that people wear backpack really low on their back. This strange flaw ruins an otherwise perfect backpack. Kate Spade, please address this issue!
